We are proud to announce that SeeCure, Goodly Technologies' VR-based ophthalmic diagnostics project, has been selected for funding by the German Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (MMFTR) under the 'Start-interaktiv' health technololgy program.

The Problem We Are Solving
For people who are frail, cognitively impaired, or care-dependent, visiting an ophthalmologist is often not just inconvenient — it is a genuine barrier. Missed eye examinations increase the risk of undetected vision loss, falls, and avoidable complications. Yet the tools available today require patients to travel to a specialist and actively participate in testing.
We believe that is no longer acceptable when the technology exists to bring diagnostics to the patient.
What SeeCure Does
SeeCure is a mobile, AI-powered diagnostic system that uses a Virtual Reality headset combined with advanced eye-tracking
algorithms to detect visual impairments — without requiring active patient feedback. The system is being developed for use in nursing homes and home care settings and underserved communities , with clinical validation carried out in partnership with the Department of Ophthalmology at LMU University Hospital Munich.
Funding & Project Details
The project has received a total volume of €590,000 (about $ 700,000). Goodly Technologies acts as project coordinator. Research partner is the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry at LMU University Hospital Munich (Klinikum der Universität München — Augenklinik und Poliklinik).
Looking Ahead
SeeCure is not just a diagnostics tool — it is a platform for preventive medicine beyond the clinic. As demographic ageing accelerates globally, the need to bring clinical-grade screening to care environments will only grow even more. We are building the infrastructure for exactly that.
We will share updates on development progress, clinical study results, and partnership milestones.
